About Mount Calvary Lutheran Church
Mount Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church (www.mountcalvary.org) is a Christ-centered, Lutheran community of faith boldly proclaiming the grace and love of God revealed in the Cross and person of Jesus Christ. We seek in the Spirit of Jesus to be open and inclusive of all people as they desire a growing and deeper relationship with God. We are located in Excelsior, Minnesota (www.ci.excelsior.mn.us) on the south shore of Lake Minnetonka. We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (www.elca.org) and its local expression, the Minneapolis Area Synod (www.mpls-synod.org). Our worship attendance places us among the 20 largest ELCA congregations in the United States and our baptized membership is around 4,000. We offer a variety of worship services on Wednesday evening, Saturday afternoon and Sunday mornings. Our worship, as well as all of our educational, fellowship, and outreach opportunities is open to everyone.
Mount Calvary is a community church that has had a regional impact through outreaches such as the Mount Calvary Preschool, the Mount Calvary Academy of Music, and Kids Against Hunger-West Metro. We also have international impact through companion church relationships around the world, particularly Nigeria, India, and Germany.
