Stella Ebner - "Everything You Have Been Told is True"

Combining whimsy and curiosity, Ebner’s off-beat scenes are meant to be simultaneously inviting and slightly unsettling. Her subjects include snapshots of daily life: waving American flags against a bright, blue sky at a Memorial Day parade; an auditorium stage during a community fundraiser; the remnants of a graduation party within a suburban garage. Ebner invites the viewer to take a closer look at the seemingly mundane moments of her Midwestern background and witness her cultural experiences.
