Audubon Park

Audubon Park is nestled down a hill among a variety of mature trees. The park is a perfect escape from the bustle of the city in winter, spring, summer and fall. The recreation center offers activities year-round that encourage kids and adults to get out and discover the world.

Sit back and dip your toes in the wading pool and get to know your neighbors as the kids splash about. Explore the redesigned playground or play games of hopscotch or four-square. Kids of all ages can enjoy a game of tennis, basketball, soccer or softball.

If you aren’t in the mood to play, sit in the shade while watching the activity. A portion of the park is wooded and features a pleasant walking path. A garden of native plants is located near the recreation center and is maintained by neighborhood volunteers.

In the winter Audubon is still busy with activity. Cold doesn’t keep Minnesotans inside for long! The park features gentle rolling hills that offer excellent sledding. Have a winter picnic in the park; it’s a great way to get outdoors for a winter adventure.

Named in honor of John James Audubon, the great American naturalist and ornithologist, the park's name was adopted Dec. 5, 1910.
