Beltrami Park is ''crawling'' with opportunities for activity, including a huge big-eyed purple and green bug to climb over, a bright red train waiting to pull out of the station and a house in the sand.
While the kids are enjoying the playground shaded by pine trees, adults can find enjoyment lounging at the picnic tables or playing a game of bocce ball on two fields. Everyone can enjoy games on the soccer and softball fields, a match on the tennis courts, a game of sand volleyball or a pick-up game on the full-size basketball court.
Beltrami Park was purchased in February 1908. When acquired, the eight acres of land were in dire need of improvement. Within six months the grounds were revitalized and the park became increasingly popular. In response to the demand for additional park facilities, cement sidewalks, restroom facilities and a limestone walkway were installed between 1910 and 1918.
