The Conservatory's glass structure features permanent and seasonal horticultural displays including exotic orchids, towering palms, walkways of stephanotis vines, pass-throughs covered in creeping fig, a pond, and dozens of fragrant and colorful species. The displays are created and maintained by the skilled gardeners of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. The hallmark art within the conservatory is the 22-foot Standing Glass Fish by architect Frank Gehry (architect for the Frederick Weisman Museum of Art at the University of Minnesota) located in the Palm Room.
